Margot Penner, BC RMT, Owner

  • Margot Penner, RMT, is the owner of Invermere Massage Therapy. She opened the clinic in January 2018, in order to provide a welcoming space in the community in which people are encouraged and empowered on their individual paths toward vibrancy and whole health.

After graduating from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 2016, Margot -- always an entrepreneur at heart -- worked as a Registered Massage Therapist for one year before opening the doors to Invermere Massage Therapy.

She takes pride in creating an inclusive environment where other practitioners can thrive and let their unique skill-sets shine, and where clients feel supported and safe, with the resources they need to make the positive changes they desire. Both Margot’s treatments and her leadership style prioritize open communication, honouring boundaries, and loving awareness -- all of which she believes are integral in cultivating holistically healthy and balanced bodies, minds, and lives.

When Margot is not in the clinic, she enjoys studying the mysteries of the body and the universe, reading a good fiction novel, going for walks, paddleboarding, cross-country skiing or trying her hand at gardening.

Margot looks forward to bringing new ideas and expansion to life in ways that continue to serve her community. Please feel free to reach out to her if you have any questions at all about what Invermere Massage Therapy offers, and how we can best support you.

Karen Jukes, BC RMT

  • Karen Jukes is a BC Registered Massage Therapist, a mother of two lovely teenage girls, and an avid outdoor enthusiast who has lived and played in the Columbia Valley since 2008. After a long career in forestry, and many years spent contemplating the move to holistic healthcare, Karen graduated from the MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy in early 2019.

Her massage practice balances trigger point therapy, movement optimization, stress relief, and relaxation -- all while remaining patient-focused, meaning that the needs and objectives of her clients are Karen’s highest priority. She’s dedicated to her patients feeling empowered in their treatments, so that their overall health and wellness is improved and they’re able to move through life with ease.

While perfecting what she has learned so far, Karen looks forward to continuing her education in areas such as lymphatic drainage and myofascial release.

When she’s not at the clinic, she can be found hiking with her daughters, skating on the lake, paddleboarding, and cross-country skiing. Karen’s warm, grounded, and friendly presence is sure to be a welcome asset in your healthcare.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I book an appointment

If you are a current client, please click the “take me to my account” button at the top of this page to sign into your account.

If you are a new client, take some time to read through the description for each practitioner, then use the contact form below to connect with us.

There will be at least a 5 week wait before we will be able to see you, likely longer due to our services being in high demand in the valley. If you are willing to wait, we will happily place you on our wait list and contact you when we have space

We are doing our absolute best to meet the needs of the community, but priority of care goes to our current client load first and foremost.

  • Cancellation Policy

Notice of cancelling and/or rescheduling your appointment must occur at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

If we receive less than 24 hours notice, or you do not show up to your scheduled appointment, a charge of the full amount of your missed or cancelled appointment will be made to your account. This amount must be paid to your practitioner prior to being able to book your next appointment. Some exceptions do apply to this policy and can be discussed privately with your practitioner as needed.

This is an out of pocket expense and can not be billed to your extended health care insurance provider.

You can not send someone else in your place to avoid this fee. Exceptions to this rule: if it is a family member (spouse or child) who has also been treated by this practitioner in the past or a change has been previously approved by your practitioner.

  • How do I get to the clinic

Main parking for the clinic is on 7th Avenue, in front of building 809, which is where the Trading Post and Her Public are located. From here, you will see a set of stairs between building 809 and 901.

Take these stairs and turn left at the top, walk all the way to the end of the pathway and you will see the clinic logo on the door of unit 211.

There is also one clinic parking space in the residential parking lot on the backside of the buildings. If you need to be closer to the clinic for mobility reasons, please contact us and we will help you with those directions.

  • Direct Billing

Our RMTs provide direct billing for most benefits providers. However, everyones plan is different and some do require the patient to submit their receipts for reimbursement themselves. You will be required to pay any amount not covered by your insurance.

Our Osteopath does not provide direct billing for his services, and you will be required to pay the full amount of the treatment cost at the time of treatment. If you are wondering if you are covered for Osteopathic treatments, you will need to speak directly with your insurance provider, Don can not answer this question for you as each plan is different.

  • ICBC and Work Safe Claims

All of the practitioners at Invermere Massage Therapy choose not to work with ICBC or WCB related claims at this time.

  • BC Medical Premium Assistance (MSP)

Our therapists do not bill to MSP. You will be required to pay for your full appointment and then submit your receipt for reimbursement.

For more information please go to: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/health/health-drug-coverage/msp/bc-residents/premiums/regular-premium-assistance

  • Are you BC Registered Massage Therapists

Yes, both Margot and Karen are BC Registered Massage Therapists, accredited and regulated by the College of Massage Therapy of BC (www.cmtbc.ca)

  • Wheelchair Accessiblity

Our clinic is accessible by wheelchair, however it is complicated and not well designed for all accessibility needs.

There is enough space to maneuver through the main halls and treatment rooms, as well as hydraulic tables to help with easier transfers to and from wheelchairs.

Unfortunately there is not enough space, nor are there rails in the washrooms to allow for easy and independent transferring and maneuvering to and from the toilet. Regrettably, this issue is not something we can change due to the location and lay out of the clinic space.

We may not be the correct clinic for you if you these are things you require, but we are happy to talk more about it with you if you have questions.
